Ministry for the blind concert
Emanuel Lutheran Church

Songs: Glory Glory, Plenty Good Room,

I've Got Shoes
|
Backed by musicians
Woody Demarco, Curt Crotzer, and Dave Bazinet, and directed
by Yvonne Bazinet, the choir sang for a receptive audience
of 60 parishioners and guests in Luther Hall. Soloists
included Bob Swinney, Bill Marks, and the trio of Victoria
Leon, Ann Lawler, and Cat Weeks. Thanks go to our hosts
for providing a sit down tri-tip dinner topped off with
cheese cake dessert. Seated at a front table was T.V.
luminary Capt. George who, on the spot, invited the
choir to sing on his channel 17 show. So keep a lookout
for our next T.V. appearance.

Songs: Perfect Praise, Total Praise, Be Thou Exalted,
Blessed Be the Name, Til we Meet Again
I felt strongly that the choir sounded
great. I was pround of the choir and happy to be part
of it. The sermon had an uplifting message.
Doug Barteld, Choir Member
Having the choir sing for the morning
service should be an annual event.

On April 22, Innerlight provided the music for the
Sunday morning worship service at Goleta Presbyterian
Church. Being up front we were able to see the faces
and feel the joyful response of the congregation.
All the songs fit in beautifully with GPC's Earth
Day service. The GPC children's choir sang "He's
Got the Whole World In His Hands" (Innerlight
joined the kids on the choruses, and enjoyed their
song as much as the congregation did). Curtis Crotzer
was the lead in "Blessed Be the Name", a
song in the rousing gospel tradition that was obviously
well received by the congregation. The last song,
"Til we meet again" featuring Doug Barteld
was very moving.
Here are a few of the things I heard from people
as we left the Goleta Presbyterian Church sanctuary
."That was awesome." "Really enjoyed
the Innerlight Choir." "Powerful."
"What joy!" "Wow!" "I didn't
know Curtis could sing like that!" And in GPC's
May Tidings message, Pastor Steve Jacobsen said "I'm
grateful to all the members of the Innerlight Gospel
Choir, who blessed our service
two weeks after Easter."

Watching the clapping, smiles, and warmth brings
joy and it was absolutely awsome! Diane Kirkpatrick.

I was impressed with the trolley decorations. It
was time for the choir to be up front in the parade
since they never even asked.

Songs: Show Yourself Mighty, Down By The Riverside,
Done Made My Vow, Healing, Praise Medley, Blessed Be

Rain gave way to sunshine making this 1st day of Autumn
glisten. The warmth came not just from the sun but also
from the old fashioned country hospitality of the congregation
and gusets. They joined us in jubilent praise as we
stood around the keyboard singing Gospel songs. The
pot luck after lived up to it's reputation of being
prepared by "The exceptional cooks of the Summerland
Church".
