Solstice Parade

Posing before the parade in our
individually designed, flowerful hats.

We built a float to represent a church with a beautiful stained glass window.

Our Music Director, Michael McCurtis, leads us in song as "the guys" push the float carrying Mama and Michael.

Marching and singing up State Street.

Getting in the swing.
The Solstice parade took many hours of planning and constructing. The city supplied the materials but the choir provided the labor for our float. There were too many "cooks in the kitchen" for the sewing, stapling, and the paper projects so I joined the one or two who were constructing the float. That was my very first experience using a saw. As a single new home owner, that turned out to be invaluable knowledge. The choir provides new friends, a great singing experience, and many beautiful surprises.
I went to the 22nd Annual Gospel Music Workshop of America in New Orleans but didn't take a camera. If anyone has photos of that great event, please let me know.
