Bess Murphy joined the Inner Light Community Gospel Choir in 1998. She is responsible for recording attendance and collecting dues. Bess recently retired from serving as a Courtroom Clerk for the County of Santa Barbara Superior Court. Since 1977 she worked in various capacities for the County of Santa Barbara including the Sheriff Extradition Department, the Carpinteria Justice Court where she was the Small Claims Executive Director, and Social Services for the Unemployment Office. Since retirement in 2003, she enjoys volunteering for organizations
such as the Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army.
