Rev. Coffey grew up in Davenport, Iowa and began singing solo at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal church at the age of seven. Rev. Coffey joined the Interfaith Ministers Alliance in 1999. He joined the Inner Light Community Gospel choir in 1998 and was ordained a minister in 2000. Now retired, he is a minister for the Inner Light church serving with Bishop Pat Patrick.
