Sandy joined the Inner Light Community Gospel Choir in 1995 and became a member of the Board several years later. She was the inspiration for the professional recording of the choir’s concerts, and has been involved with the editing and duplication of audiotapes and CDs since the beginning. Sandy’s eclectic work history includes (but is not limited to) social worker, caregiver, personal care manager, personal assistant, cosmetologist, massage therapist, retail store owner, owner of a home improvement and repair business and model for art classes. She is currently the Resident Services Director at Garden Court, an independent senior residence. She is an advocate for volunteerism and loves to create opportunities for her residents to “give back” to the community. Personally, she has been a volunteer with Hospice, Sarah House, Heath House, AIDS Project Central Coast, AIDS Project and Salvation Army Adopt-a-family Projects, The Holiday Project, VIVA Cat Shelter, The Alzheimer’s Association, The Braille Institute and The Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
