Rev. Yvonne Bazinet moved to Santa Barbara in 1961 and has been an accountant and community activist since 1971. She works for a local company full time and her own tax business with a diversified clientele including several non-profit agencies in the Santa Barbara Area.

She is a member of the Inter Faith Ministerial Alliance. She divides her time between her ministry; her church (Center of the Word), her extended family; work, and singing in various venues in the tri county areas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Theology from St. Mary's Seminary in Colorado in 2007.

Her love of music began as a child and in 1992 she joined the Inner Light Community Gospel Choir and has been one of the leading vocalists with the group. Besides the Inner Light Community Gospel Choir she sings locally with various jazz groups; the Gospel Ensemble; The High Notes and Mama's Voices. Her quote regarding her music is "I want to touch people with my singing. I want to move them with words and music so they are drawn closer to God."
